Positive Partnerships
At Sandgate State School, we value strong, positive partnerships with our families. Open and effective communication between home and school is essential in supporting each child’s learning, wellbeing and success. We warmly encourage parents and carers to reach out with any questions, concerns or feedback. By working together, we can ensure the best possible outcomes for every student. If you would like to discuss anything further, please make an appointment with the relevant staff member at a time that is convenient for all.
Access to Classrooms and School Grounds
The safety of our students is a priority. To help maintain a safe and secure environment, all parents, carers and visitors are asked to report to the school office upon arrival before entering the school grounds. This includes our valued volunteers such as classroom helpers and tuckshop assistants.
Visitors will be issued with a Visitor’s Badge, which we ask you to wear while on site and return when leaving.
We appreciate the cooperation of our community in helping to keep our school a safe and welcoming place for all.
Connecting with Teachers
We strongly encourage regular communication with your child’s teacher throughout the year. Building these relationships supports your child’s learning journey.
To minimise disruption to classroom learning, we kindly ask that conversations do not take place during class time. The best way to arrange a meeting is via email, allowing a mutually convenient time to connect.
Formal Communication Opportunities
Throughout the year, we provide a range of opportunities for families to stay informed and engaged in their child’s progress:
Term 1
- Class Information Sessions
- Parent/Teacher Interviews
Term 2
- Semester One Academic Report Card
Term 3
- Parent/Teacher Interviews
Term 4
- Semester Two Academic Report Card
School Newsletter
Our school newsletter is published fortnightly and is a wonderful way to stay connected with what’s happening across our school community. It includes important updates, celebrations of student learning, and upcoming events.
The newsletter is available via email subscription, and we encourage all families to ensure their email details are registered with the school office.
