School learning spaces and grounds

​Sandgate State School has a large campus with wonderful facilities for a school of this size. 

• Our large classrooms are air conditioned and allow plenty of room for co-operative learning.
• We have a modern Resource Centre at the 'hub' of the school which has a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) room, along with a large collection of print books and resources for students and staff.
• An Arts Space, incorporating areas for classroom Arts lessons and instrumental music lessons.
  
• Outside learning areas consisting of edible gardens.

The school boasts extensive play areas which include:

• A shaded adventure playground with tree house and sandpit for the Prep to Year 2 students.
• Another large covered sandpit and covered playground structure in the designated Prep area.
• A funnel web climbing structure for the Year 3-6 students.

At Sandgate State School we are very fortunate to have many great sporting facilities including:

• 25m swimming pool

• A large covered multi-purpose sports area for netball and basketball

• An oval for soccer, cross country and athletics 

• Cricket nets         

• An artificial grass soccer field for students in Prep to Year 2
