Book Week Celebrations for 2017
This year Sandgate State School will be celebrating Book Week from the 7th to 11th August. This is not the official Children's Book Council Awards Book Week, however our 5/6 Camp Currimundi falls in the official week so we felt a move was necessary to allow all students to participate.
On Wednesday 9th August we will hold a Book Week Costume Dress up day for all students in years P-6. A general assembly will be held where all students are able to show off their costumes. At the conclusion of the assembly students in years 3-6 will move back to their classrooms and students in P-2 will participate in Book Week activities and a parade, as has been done in previous years. Students may like to start thinking about their costumes over the June/July school holidays. Please remember that all costumes must be related to a book.
Also, during our Book Week we will be holding craft activities throughout the week in the Resource Centre, along with a performance for all students. This performance is entitled 'Super Duper' and will be held on Friday 11th August. The cost will be $6 per student. Further information about this will be sent home at the beginning of term 3.
