It was great to see so many students signing on for another great year of active travelling at last weeks launch of the 2016 Active Travel Program and first walking school buses for the year. Students who were unable to actively travel to school last Wednesday can still get a passport for the year when they active travel on a Wednesdays.  Students will need to have 12 stamps in their passports to go into the end of semester 1 prize draw which is a scooter donated by Cr Jared Cassidy and then they will need 30 stamps to go into the major prize draw at the end of the year.

Active Travel is a Brisbane City Council environmental initiative aimed at reducing congestion at schools and encouraging active and healthy life styles for our young people.

The launch has also proven to be a great springboard for classes to use as a persuasive writing topic in preparation for NAPLAN, with 56 AP jointly constructing a very persuasive piece this week about why we should all actively travel to school.
