Sandgate enjoys sweeping views to the east over Moreton Bay to Moreton Island and north to Woody Point on the Redcliffe Peninsula.

When you visit Sandgate you feel like you are stepping in to a different place and time with its historic buildings and bayside charm. You can enjoy the fresh sea breezes and panoramic views of the bay with beautiful shady picnic grounds and walkways. This village by the sea makes a great weekend escape for the whole family.

Sandgate is also renowned for its thriving artistic and cultural community with many local theatre groups, artists, and musicians living and performing in the area. There are many community and performing arts events and festivals held at Sandgate each year including the Bluewater Festival, Einbunpin Festival and Music By The Sea.

You can stroll the Sandgate Historical Trail featuring the Sandgate Post Office, Railway Station and Sandgate Pier and not to forget the famous clock at the Town Hall. Sunset over the Shorncliffe Pier is an amazing sight well worth watching.
