Our local area

Sandgate State School is a Metropolitan Region Indigenous Focus School and a member of the North Brisbane Bulkirra Jakoba (Moving Together) group of schools which meets regularly to promote the education of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in our schools and to work together to further develop our Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives in Schools (EATSIPS) plan.

As a school we proudly fly the Aboriginal flag and acknowledge the local Aboriginal people - the Turrbal people (PDF, 770 KB) at our weekly assemblies and we celebrate special events such as NAIDOC Week and Harmony Day as well as the local Noonga Reconciliation Day.
