School grounds and classrooms

Sandgate State School has a large campus with wonderful facilities for a school of this size.

  • Almost all of our classrooms are double teaching spaces fitted with interactive whiteboards, which allows plenty of room for a traditional classroom and group tables for co-operative learning.
  • We have a modern, newly refurbished Resource Centre at the 'hub' of the school which has an ICT room and media room along with a large collection of print books and resources and audio-visual resources for students and staff.
  • A newly refurbished music block with teaching spaces for classroom music and instrumental music lessons which sits above our soon to be completed visual arts precinct.
  • An air conditioned computer lab with 28 modern computers and data projector.
  • An outside learning area called 'Green Lane' which consists of edible gardens to support the tuckshop and for members of our community to purchase.

The school boasts extensive play areas which include:

  • A shaded adventure playground with tree house, large sandpit and cubby house for the prep-year 2 students
  • Another large covered sandpit and modern playground structures in the prep area
  • A funnel web climbing structure and funnel web climbing structure and adventure playgrounds for the year 3-7 students.
