Premier's Reading Challenge 2017

16/11/2017

2017 Premier's Reading Challenge Celebration

The Premier's Reading Challenge is an annual statewide initiative for state and non—state schools and home—educated students up to Year 9, and children enrolled in an early childhood centre or program.

The challenge is not a competition but aims to improve literacy and encourage children to read widely for pleasure and learning.  This year many students at Sandgate State School participated in the challenge.

For Prep — Year 9 students to successfully complete the challenge they had to read or experience an allocated number of books based upon their year level during the reading period.

This week Sandgate State School celebrates the successful completion of this challenge.

All successful students are recognised for their efforts through the receipt of a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Premier of Queensland and teachers are celebrating within the Pods over the week generally after second break each day.

Well Done Team Sandgate!
