Year 4 students with staff at the Bunyaville Environmental Education Centre
Our Yr 3 students had an incursion with Bunyaville last week and our Yr 4 students travelled to the Bunyaville Environmental Education Centre for their excursion around the current Science units.  The students all had a great day and learnt lots to support the learnings from the classroom activities. The students wrote recounts of the work such as piece below from 34TS by Marissa Bedwell.

SSSSSSSSSSS’ Wack! Wack!! “Is the kookaburra going to eat it?” everyone asked. It had the snake but the snake was still moving. We were all excited. Debbie said that the birds were all waiting for the ground animals to rise to the surface to eat them as the area had just been burned. The kookaburra was still whacking the snake on the branch. I was surprised that the kookaburra had caught the snake by the head. It was really exciting to watch the kookaburra kill and eat the snake.

We were at Bunyaville and having lots of fun. It took a long time for the kookaburra to eat the snake and I didn’t know why. The snake was long and black. There were many different kinds of birds hanging around and my favourite was the butcher bird. They make a beautiful sound.
