Classy Results

Sandgate State School's National Partnership guided the unrelenting focus on Reading over the 4 yr partnership.
Sandgate State School named amongst 53 Queensland schools that have posted huge improvements in their NAPLAN results in national data released this week and reported in the Courier Mail on Thursday March 5, 2015.
The schools have been identified as having improved across reading and writing in the latest My School data.
The 53 Queensland schools, which include around 27 state schools, 16 Catholic schools and 10 independent schools, come from across the state, including Bundaberg, Cairns and Wynnum.
Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority general manager Dr Stanley Rabinowitz said it was impressive to see some schools boast improvements in both reading and numeracy.
Schools identified in the most-improved list showed a large overall improvement compared to schools with similar groups of students and with similar NAPLAN starting points. Queensland Teachers’ Union president Kevin Bates said it was heartening to see schools across the state recognised.
