Term 2 News

This week all of our students in Years 3, 5, and 7 sat the annual National Assessment Program-Literacy and Numeracy Tests, over 3 days.  These students should be congratulated on the professional way in which they approached the tests and were prepared to give of their best. We are pleased to report that we had almost 100% of our enrolled students in these year levels sit the tests, which is a wonderful reflection on how well our students were prepared by our hardworking staff in the lead up to the tests.  As a National Partnership School for literacy these tests are a particularly important performance measure for our school against our  improvement agenda and as such we have a very focussed preparation, which involves our students and teachers focussed on good teaching and learning, all year round.
We now await the reports which arrive in October and consist of school based data as well as individual reports for each student, comparing their performance across the State and Nation.  Our school based data will also help to inform our strategic planning and teaching and learning focus for 2013.

Congratulations to the Students of the Month for May.  Well done & keep up the great work.

Over 90 students from Sandgate State School participated in the Anzac Day march through the Sandgate Village on Wednesday 25th April.  It was great to see such a large number of students paying their respects and showing their support by marching with their community.
