Happy Easter Vacation To All!
This week our Prep to Year 2 and Popcorn students adorned their Easter Hat creations to host the residents of the Freemasons’ Age Care Home for a morning of musical entertainment in the Performing Arts Hall. The visitors thoroughly enjoyed the performances from each class and the performance from our Popcorn Choir, which had a delightful Easter theme. The students made Easter cards for our special visitors and gave them out during morning tea. It was lovely to see the conversations occurring between our littlies and the senior members of the wider school community.
Sandgate State School has made a commitment to host the residents twice a year as well as visit a number of age care facilities in the local area later in the year. A big thank you to our students, staff, especially Mrs Kathryn Bryant and our wonderful Music Supporter’s parents for making the event successful and giving the senior members of the community something enjoyable and different from their normal daily lives. Well done and Happy Eater holidays to all!
